阅读是同等学力英语考试的一大难点，很多考生在此“失手”。考生在复习中要着重解决单词、句子阅读、阅读速度等问题。
单词：自制卡片，循环记忆
阅读部分涉及词汇量不是很大，学会4000个左右单词即可应考。有些考生在应试时很容易遗忘或混淆单词的意义，为避免类似情况发生，一定要加强对单词意义的理解。考生可以自制单词卡片，正反面分别写英文和中文解释，每天背一定量的生词，循环背诵并不断补充。当然，最有效的方法是在阅读文章时记忆单词。
句子：摒弃经验，认真推敲
在句子理解方面，考生最容易犯的错误是根据已有经验片面理解。英语阅读中，有的题目考的是对文章中某一句子的理解，要参考上下文客观地看问题。考生要对一些复合句，尤其是双重否定句、比较句、指代句等相关语法知识有所了解。遇到复杂句时，考生要静心推敲，从把握句子的主谓结构入手，对句子进行分析解剖。
阅读：扫描全文，随时标记
阅读要求速度与准确度的完美结合。快而不准或准而太慢都会影响成绩。考生在勤奋学习的同时掌握一些阅读技巧可达到事半功倍的效果。我认为，快速阅读关键是在扫描全文时，把握每段的主旨，并随时做标记。看完全文后，要对文章的结构主题有大致了解。阅读时，考生还要克服以单词为单位遇生词就停顿的坏习惯。
语言是评判作文的一个极其重要的因素。在实际的阅卷过程中，语法错误，尤其是较为严重的错误，是阅卷人员的主要“照顾点”，有时甚至是惟一的点；当然那样处理是有道理的，大家可以设想一下，一篇语法上漏洞百出、严重影响表达的作文又会有什么样的好内容呢？如果因为语言上的错误而导致失分，那将得不偿失。因此，认清各种各样的语法错误，尽可能地避免少犯，对于提高作文分是有极大的帮助的。现将我们在阅卷过程中所发现的大量语言错误逐一归类，抽出其中的典型错误，以警示大家，供参考。
1．句子成分残缺不全

2．句子成分多余
